CarboTech identifies biogas as the energy source of the future

Essen, 29.11.2024 – Activated carbon is indispensable in the process of biogas production. The mixture of organic materials used to produce the gas influences the components and thus also the impurities of the resulting raw biogas.

Particularly problematic are substances such as hydrogen sulfide, siloxanes and volatile organic compounds. When raw biogas is used to generate electricity, VOCs cause increased wear of technical components such as engines or catalytic converters, and the efficiency of the biogas is minimized.

Solution approach activated carbon

Using CarboTech activated carbon products is a safe and reliable way of removing these contaminants. CarboTech has developed a biogas product line that is perfectly matched to these challenges and is the ideal solution for biogas applications.

“High-quality base materials, careful further processing in a fluidized bed for an optimal pore structure and a comprehensive product range of sizes and shapes make our CarboTech products a guarantee for long service life with consistently high adsorption performance. The advantages of CarboTech are clear,” says Daniel Böke, managing director of the CarboTech Group.

Carbon molecular sieves for biomethane production

In the further optimization of resources, the biogas obtained can be processed into high-quality biomethane. Before it is fed into the natural gas network, the gas is purified with the aim of obtaining a high methane purity and minimizing the CO2 content. In the biogas upgrading process, CarboTech’s carbon molecular sieves also offer you outstanding adsorption performance and service life.

360° service completes the performance portfolio

“We offer our customers a comprehensive, hassle-free service. This means everything from a single source and maximum simplicity. Those who choose us as their service partner benefit from a seamless replacement service for all makes, professional disposal or reactivation of loaded activated carbon, and more. The expansion of our fleet also makes our customer logistics as flexible as possible,” explains Daniel Mandau, Manager Service Department at CarboTech Group.
