“Adsorption in Excellence” – CarboTech and EOS at IFAT Munich 2026

The CarboTech Group announces its return to IFAT Munich 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies. Together with its sister company Electrical Oil Services (EOS), CarboTech will be exhibiting at the Munich Exhibition Centre from 4 to 7 May 2026 under the shared theme “Adsorption in Excellence”.

At their joint stand, both companies will showcase innovative solutions across the entire adsorption value chain – from high-quality activated carbon and bespoke application concepts to sustainable recycling and recovery solutions. Through close collaboration, CarboTech and EOS are pooling their expertise in the fields of activated carbon and recycling technology, thereby underlining their commitment to quality, efficiency and sustainability.

Interview with Mario Westerkofort, activated carbon sales expert at CarboTech

Mr Westerkofort, CarboTech will once again be exhibiting at IFAT in 2026. Why is this trade fair of particular importance to you?

Mario Westerkofort (MW): For us, IFAT is the industry’s central meeting place – not only in German-speaking countries, but internationally. This is where the relevant decision-makers from the water management, industrial and waste management sectors come together. Topics such as trace substance elimination, PFAS and the circular economy are becoming increasingly important. IFAT thus offers the ideal platform to demonstrate our capabilities. CarboTech sees itself not only as a full-service provider, but as a solution-oriented partner – and that is exactly what we bring to life here.

You are exhibiting together with EOS. What does the motto “Adsorption in Excellence” stand for?

MW: Our motto was chosen deliberately. CarboTech stands for high-quality activated carbons that are precisely tailored to the respective application. For us, excellent adsorption does not end with the product, but encompasses the entire process chain – including recovery. In combination with EOS’s expertise, we offer measurable added value and sustainable solutions at IFAT Munich.

What can visitors expect at your stand?

MW: We are not presenting theoretical concepts, but concrete solutions. Using practical examples, we demonstrate how municipal wastewater treatment plants can efficiently remove micropollutants using powdered activated carbon, or how industrial companies can treat their process water sustainably. Current challenges such as PFAS are also a focus. We look forward to in-depth technical discussions – both with long-standing partners and with new prospects. Anyone who wants to know how adsorption is implemented to an excellent standard in practice has come to the right place.
