Essen, 22 January 2025 – Activated carbon producer CarboTech has raised 2,200 euros in a fundraising campaign. The company’s commercial director has now presented the money to the University Medicine Foundation on behalf of his staff.

A total of €2,200 was raised by selling raffle tickets at the CarboTech Christmas party, and by the managing director, Daniel Böke, doubling the amount. The money will now be used for cancer research and therapy at the West German Cancer Centre (WTZ).

‘Cancer is one of the most widespread diseases in our society. Ongoing research is continuously improving the available therapies, so that today, those affected often have a much better prognosis for recovery than just a few years ago,’ explains Prof. Dr. Ulrich Radtke, Chairman of the Board of the University Medicine Foundation. ’However, this research and therapy require a great deal of funding. Every donation helps to cover this. I would like to express my sincere thanks to CarboTech for its support.’

The University Medicine Foundation is committed to promoting innovative research projects, improving patient care beyond the mere medical care requirement and supporting the training of young medical professionals. This contributes to the best possible treatment of patients at the University Hospital Essen.
