CarboTech Group receives
certification as a specialist waste
management company

Essen, July 15, 2025 – The CarboTech Group has reached another important milestone: Both CarboTech AC GmbH and CarboTech Production GmbH have been officially certified as specialized waste management companies in accordance with Section 56 of the German Closed Substance Cycle Act (Circular Economy Act). The audit was carried out by the independent and DAkkS-accredited DNV Business Assurance Zertifizierung GmbH.

The successful completion of the certification process confirms the CarboTech Group’s central responsibility for the consistent and legally compliant handling of activated carbon – from transport to the environmentally friendly return and treatment of used materials.

With our certification as a specialist waste management company, we achieve exactly that: legally compliant, transparent, and sustainable handling of used activated carbon,” explains Daniel Böke, Managing Director of the CarboTech Group.

The certification includes, among other things:

• Transport, storage, treatment, and recycling of used activated carbon
• Reliable disposal – even for hazardous types of waste
• Operation of our own technical facilities for thermal reactivation

With the new certificates, the CarboTech Group is positioning itself even more strongly as a comprehensive provider of activated carbon solutions – with a particular focus on recycling, resource efficiency, and legal certainty for its partners.
