DIN EN ISO 9001 is the most important and internationally recognised quality management standard, which sets high standards for our quality management system.

Passing the certification now officially confirms that we are implementing all requirements in accordance with the regulations.

The certification covers the development, manufacture and sale of CarboTech activated carbon products. It is proof of traceable and customer-orientated processes, as well as the best values in terms of reliability, product quality and adherence to delivery dates. Nevertheless, we are always working to become even better.

On our own initiative, we have voluntarily certified ourselves in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 – the international standard for energy management systems.

This means that our customers, employees and stakeholders can rely on us to systematically manage our energy efficiency, take responsibility for the environment and resources, and reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the process.

• ISO 50001 supports us in evaluating and prioritising the introduction of new energy-efficient technologies and in improving energy efficiency, energy use and consumption.
• It promotes best practices and behaviours in energy management, provides a framework for promoting energy efficiency throughout the supply chain and facilitates improvements in energy management for greenhouse gas emission reduction projects.

The international standard ISO 14001 specifies requirements for an environmental management system with which CarboTech can improve its environmental performance, fulfil legal and other obligations and achieve environmental goals. The standard is based on the following pillars:

• Planning:
  Definition of environmental objectives and corresponding measures, responsibilities and procedures;
• Implementation:
  Implementation of the defined measures and procedures;
• Monitoring:
  Review of the responsibilities and procedures as well as the measures with regard to the environmental objectives and the environmental guidelines of CarboTech;
• Improvement:
  Adaptation of responsibilities, procedures and measures and, if necessary, the environmental objectives and environmental guidelines
  However, the standard does not specify absolute requirements. This means that two organisations that carry out similar activities but have different environmental performance can still both meet the requirements of ISO 14001.

The EcoVadis award is based on a holistic rating in the area of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

For example, topics such as the environment, compliance with labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement are used for the assessment.

The valuable results of the ratings help us to become better and better.

Due to our international orientation, it was a matter of course for us to obtain halal certification for CarboTech in order to be certified as a supplier for producers of halal-compliant products.

For example, CarboTech activated carbons are used as filter media in various places in the food and beverage industry, so that CarboTech, as part of a halal-compliant supply chain, must also provide evidence of corresponding certification.

Similar to the aforementioned halal certification, CarboTech also has kosher certification, which enables the use of our activated carbon in kosher supply chains in the food and beverage industry.

Responsible behaviour, integrity and compliance with applicable laws are the basis for a trusting relationship with our business partners and employees.
CarboTech therefore launched a compliance management system in 2022 and implemented it in all areas of the company last year.
This enables all employees to face the daily challenges in the areas of occupational health and safety, environmental protection and energy in their day-to-day work with legal certainty and to avoid violations of laws, our corporate guidelines or corruption.
This has now been officially confirmed by Eticor’s receipt of the Certified Sustainable Supplier (CSS) certification for our compliance management system.

As a forward-looking company, we need to be able to rely on resilient information technology (IT). But with cybercrime on the rise and new threats constantly emerging, it can seem difficult or even impossible to manage cyber risks alone.

That’s why we work closely with our sister company and internal IT service provider ICIG Business Services (ICIG BS). Our sister company is certified in accordance with the internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001 standard for information security management. Particularly in the areas of security infrastructure, IT security and compliance, we work together to meet the necessary regulatory requirements, minimize risks and continuously improve internal IT processes
