Solvents

Filtering solutions from the air

Solvents easily become airborne – whether in the chemicals industry, at dry-cleaners or during fuel transportation. These are emissions that must be prevented or reversed, because solvents are either important raw materials or pollutants, and the latter are subject to strict upper limits.

Take production of adhesives, where cyclohexane is used. This colourless liquid causes headaches, nausea and dizziness, and irritates the eyes and respiratory tract. Prolonged contact with it can cause dermatitis, an inflammatory skin reaction. It is therefore important to filter this waste product out of the air.

Fluidised bed processes for long durability

This application calls for activated carbons. CarboTech offers several solutions for this, for example our carbon pellets which are activated using our fluidised bed process – the only one of its type in the world – which produces a significantly larger active surface.

The result is that our activated carbons last longer than other products on the market. They also meet limit restrictions with greater precision and for a longer period of time.

The bottom line is that while conventional “common or garden” product often has to be replaced after just two or three years, CarboTech’s activated carbon continues adsorbing pollutants for up to 10 years. This way, you don’t have to worry about legal requirements and can enjoy a long period of peace and quiet before making the next purchase or replacement.
