Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control

The Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA-Luft) is the “First General Administrative Regulation to the Federal Immission Control Act” (BImSchG) and is an essential component for the approval, modification and operation of industrial plants. In Germany, more than 50,000 plants are subject to this administrative regulation, of which around 1,900 are in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry. The TA-Luft contains emission requirements/limit values for air pollutants such as

  • Dust
  • Organic substances (VOC)
  • Inorganic substances (gas/dust)
  • Odor-intensive substances (odor immission guideline – GIRL as a source of knowledge)
  • Carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substances

For example, the limit value for total carbon emissions is 50mg/m³ or 20mg/Nm³ if the exhaust air source is thermally treated. For a large number of the substances regulated in the TA-Luft, activated carbon can provide a limit value-compliant solution to meet this administrative regulation.

It was worth having a competent partner with our many years of experience in the field of filter solutions for air and gas applications at your side and being able to easily place the technical design and implementation of complex adsorption systems in professional hands. In the applications mentioned, our activated carbon impresses with its long service life, high cost-effectiveness and impressive adsorption capacity – whether in permanently installed filter systems or as mobile Plug & Clean adsorbers, where our customers can choose between rental and purchase options. Our sales and application technology experts will be happy to provide you with comprehensive advice on emission reduction options for your industry.

We are more than just activated carbon

However, the CarboTech product portfolio comprises far more than “just” activated carbon.

Our 360° service package includes a wide range of service modules from which our customers can select only what they really need. Thanks to our own extensive service fleet with vehicles for a wide range of applications, we can offer our customers an individually tailored replacement service, as well as the simultaneous removal of the loaded activated carbon for reactivation or, if reactivation is no longer possible, for disposal.
