Powdered activated carbon from the heart of the Ruhr region

We produce powdered activated carbon at our company headquarters in Essen by crushing and grinding granulated or extruded activated carbon in our in-house mill. We can process all carbon-containing materials. We produce powdered activated carbon using the dry grinding process. This means that the activated carbon to be ground must be completely dry so that we can process it further.

After mechanical treatment in our mill, the activated carbon particles have a particle size of between 50 and 200 µm. This small size requires less space in the filter than other forms of activated carbon and more product can be filled into the filter, which can be an advantage for the adsorption process, depending on the application. With powdered activated carbons, the equilibrium states are reached more quickly, i.e. the dependence of the pollutant concentration on the adsorption by the activated carbon used.
